Walked from our hoose to Lincoln Central stayshun. Got there only to find our trane was cancelled. Bloody typical. A technical problem with the train. We took an alternative route via Donny. Only problem was that our Andy only had an hour for lunch and the orig train got me in at twenty to twelve which made a noon meet perfectly possible. The revised timetable got me to the revised restaurant/pub at 12:20. Vocation Ltd was empty but we had a nice couple of pints and I had a v nice lambburger. Andy had to go back to werk but WIll, Tom and I wandered on to a pub whose name escapes me but is a former bank. The highlight of the visit was that the barmaid told me she had just been promoted. She needed to tell someone and I was the one. She was moving to be assistant manager of the York Tap. I was thrilled for her. We will be in the York Tap for Capacity Yorkshire on Thursday 17th December and will look her up.
Didn’t manage to catch the 2.40 ish and am now on the 3.40 ish.
The girl opposite me is getting off at Retford. We exchanged no words during our journey here. Most of the train seems to have got off at Retford. Sgood. Not much going for it, Retford, tbh.
A precocious 12 year old sat opposite has been negotiating with her mother for a cookie. Mum stayed very much in control. Now the kid is wearing a pink eye mask.
