transition from silk to cotton

Filed under: diary — Trefor Davies @ 8:30 am

Today I’m transitioning from silk to cotton shirts. Been mostly wearing silk shirts through the heat of the modern English summer but today it’s cotton and can see very soon that it will be tshirts which, with another layer, will then see me through the uncertain winter ahead. With  the tshirt you just chose the appropriate jumper, be it a thin fleece or ultrawarm himalayan sweater. Had a good night’s sleep and will shortly be dropping THG off at the stayshun at 07:55 as the is catching a train to the Peul to see her sister. Not sure about breakfast as I am not hungry. I had a cheese and pickle toastie for dinner last night but have eaten and drunk so much over the summer that I think it will take time to get back to a normal dietary schedule. Swimming at 3pm. That will help.

Otherwise I have jobs to do. The shed needs a tidy, a hoovering even, plus a load of paper that is currently piled on the floor next to the shredder needs feeding into said machine and depositing in the compost bin. I am also going to spend some time on biz dev for QJayStudios. If ya need any vids going, corporate or otherwise, hit me up. The business has got off to a good start. Our John is v talented.

Gee it’s great to be back home.

The other nice thing about being at home is proper internet connectivity. Everyone should have 1Gig symmetrical to themselves.

Back from dropping THG off and it is now a nice relaxed start to the day. Had some buttered toast with home made marmalade and now considering a mid morning jaunt to Waitrose

I’ve set my new Rolex to the right date and to BST and have now strolled to the shed to start the day. I don’t wear a watch but figured the Rolex should at least show the right time even if it is in the drawer in the kitchen. It is a beautiful late summer/early autumn day. All is quiet in the shed.

A profitable hour on the shed tidying front. Two bin loads of shredding and some floor sweeping together with moving some of the camping chairs that have found their way in over the summer. Mind you the sweeping seems to have disturbed some dust as I’ve been sneezing for the last 20 mins.

Decided I have manflu. Sore eyes, cough and aches and pains with the occasional runny nez. Fortunately the paramedic has arrived. Just picked her up from Lincoln Central. She has some paracetamol and is making me a hot lemon and honey drink. When you have a serious affliction like Manflu it is important to follow the right medical procedures. It isn’t often I go down with manflu, fortunately.

Before her train arrived I made myself a very excellent roasted cauliflower cheese. Only thing it really needed was tangier cheddar but I finished that off in the toastie last night. Norrabiggie. Got plenty left to do us for another meal later in the week.
