BUELO BATTERS. Headlines in all the papers this morning. Not really. Well it might be but I haven’t looked and we don’t get a paper anymore. Haven’t since the advent of tintwerweb. Even my dad gave up buying the Grauniad when he got an ADSL connection. Used the saving on the newspaper as justification for the cost of the “broadband”.
Anyway Storm Buelo is currently blowing down trees all over the country. In our garden it has wreaked havoc with innumerable small twigs and branches littering the landscape. I’ll have to check to see if Brian the fishing gnome is ok. The tarp covering the garden furniture has held. A good investment that.
This morning we had a bit of a lie in. Only problem was that I still woke up at the normal BST time and so lay awake in bed for an hour or so checking the state of things on my device. Under the covers obvs as I didn’t want to disturb THG but she was probably also awake. I’m pleased we are now back to GMT. It feels more right than the artificialness (artificiality?) of BST. More solid.
Weetabix with a banana, bit of toast and a cup of tea followed by the three s’ and I am in the shed (having bowed by dead into Buelo for the journey) and ready for the day. Seeing as the clocks have changed I thought it prudent to replace the battery in the clock on the shed wall. It’s been stuck at half past six for a year. You know when it is time to get a job done. I have a few jobs today, the most important of which is to prepare the Sunday dinner. Roast chicken with all the trimmings except we have no bacon or sausages for the PIBs. Might nip out for those. See how I get on with everything else.
