Finished first meeting ahead of schedule and was able to bring the second forward. As a result I am now sat in the KLM lounge with 3 hours ahead of me before I need to set off for gate D 6 and the bus. The priority security pass worked a treat Andy Rawnsley. In fact I got there an hour and a half ahead of my booked slot (I couldn’t change it to an earlier one) but I showed the guy at the entrance and he said just head on in. What’s more I can tell you the Duty Free strategy worked. 2 x 1l Tanqueray £25 in Humberside. 25 euros each in AMS. Same price as Tesco. I kept them in the sealed bags with receipts and after examination the security guy let them through. The limit is 48 hours so if you are just off on a short trip it works.
The trip was a success. Looking at conference venues and the last one I saw was the best.
Interesting to compare the security setups of Humberside and Schipol. Didn’t need to get anything out of the bag at the latter and my hips didn’t set off the alarm.
