Goodbye Shenzhen

Hello Hong Kong

Heading back to the Pavilion Hotel to pick up our luggage before moving on to Hong Kong. Very interesting morning fair play. Huawei are a big company with lots of products to showcase. Saw that they were leaders in high capacity firewalls. Not really a surprise considering the Chinese government is one of their customers.

Very good lunch afterwards although only enough crispy duck for one pancake each. Will have to see about getting more crispy duck in Hong Kong before we leave for home.

This morning we have had some serious rain. Tropical stuff with thunder and lightning. See vid. Fortunately the bus came to pick us up from under a canopy at the entrance. Hong Kong  is going to have similar weather according the forecast. It is only a 90 mins or so drive away. Looking at the map it looks as if Shenzhen was built as a manufacturing centre just outside Hong Kong.

Back to the Pavilion Hotel to pick up the luggage, lets some folks hit “electronics street” and change coach to head for Hong Kong. Estimated journey time 1 hour 42 mins. I have tinterweb, my fave sounds and a laptop to keep me company.

Just been told something that will probably affect the journey time. We have to go through two checkpoints and take all out luggage off the coach both times. Urgh. Seems a little excessive innit. Anyway we are now on our way.
