Coops came and fitted a new coil to Betty last night. Started straight away. That sweet sparking sound of success. Amazing the difference a £30 part can make. Then I cooked some stuffed mushrooms on the bbq. V pleasant dinner with THG. After that Steve Dowse came round and we sat on the deck chatting for a couple of hours or so. Heatwave dividend.
Now in the shed. Bloody pigeons have been wrecking the plants in the lake again. I already moved one and tried to shore up the other with a stone in the water but they still manage to knock the plant in. I’ll have to move this one to the other end of the lake like I did with the first one. Annoying. If I could find a way to stop the pigeons coming completely I would. Maybe keep a peregrine falcon on the roof of the shed.
Fairly busy day in prospect. Gotcha nip to Tesco this morning, have a lecture on Katherine Swineford to go to this pm and it’s the 18th Bailgate Scouts committee meeting this evening. Will be fitting in more compost bin building in between that lot.
…
Got some mahoosive news. I was tidying up the plant arrangements in the lake and disturbed a frog. Folks we have our first frog. I’m hoping I haven’t blocked it in as I was moving some of the underwater rocks around to shore up the plants. I might check. Also repaired the jetty whilst I was there, fwiw.
